Plastics Reduction
Reducing Micro- and Macroplastics in the Cape Fear River Basin
In January 2020 we began work on our newest monitoring project, shifting into a new realm of environmental pollution: plastics. Along with the 16 other Waterkeepers of Waterkeepers Carolina, Cape Fear River Watch aims to better understand how the removal of macroplastics from a small waterway impacts levels of microplastics in that waterway and therefore in all downstream waterways. This is a multi-year, multi-step research project, and we’re excited to share our findings with you along the way!
