Enviroscape® Presentations

Enviroscape® is a teaching resource that demonstrates how watersheds function. The model displays multiple land uses and shows how pollutants can contaminate waterways, resulting in adverse affects on water quality and environmental health. Specifically, Enviroscape helps to teach about storm water runoff, pervious vs impervious surfaces, point source vs non-point source pollutants, and pollution mitigation practices.

The Enviroscape® presentation is designed to meet NC 8th grade science standards for the Hydrosphere Unit (8.E.1), including topics on river basins and watersheds. It can also be adapted for other grades and teaching standards. The presentation lasts about one hour, though can be shortened for shorter class periods. The Enviroscape® presentation is recommended for groups of 30 or less so all participants are able to view the tabletop model.
