This survey is part of a study of the economic value of the Cape Fear River. The study was funded through a partnership with Cape Fear River Watch and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), with support from the North Carolina Division of Marine Fisheries, the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission and the University of North Carolina, Wilmington.
Changes in water quality and access to suitable habitat have limited the ability to catch certain species of fish in the Cape Fear River. The purpose of this study is to understand the benefits to fishers if catch rates improve.
