SUMMARY:International Coastal Cleanup
DESCRIPTION:Save the date for this year’s International Coastal Cleanup\, a project of the Ocean Conservancy that engages people to remove trash from the world’s beaches and waterways. Cape Fear River Watch and Keep New Hanover Beautiful are teaming up with other local nonprofits and businesses to host cleanup sites all throughout New Hanover County. Partners include our local chapter of Surfrider\, the Wilmington Yoga Center\, and more!\n\nCape Fear River Watch will be based out of the Greenfield Lake Boathouse\, and volunteers will be able to clean up either on land or by boat. As always\, we’ll supply all the supplies you need except water and sunscreen! Check out our FB event for updated information.\n\nPlease register beforehand.

SUMMARY:2nd Saturday Cleanup: Greenfield Lake
DESCRIPTION:We hope you’ll join us for our CDC-compliant 2nd Saturday cleanup coming up this Saturday\, October 10th\, from 9-11am. Of course\, if you and your loved ones do not feel comfortable attending\, please stay home! September’s cleanup event will take place at Greenfield Lake\, starting at the boathouse. Our fleet of boats will be available for all volunteers! Please wear proper clothing and bring your water\, sunscreen\, & bug spray. Parking will be available in the boathouse parking lot (right next to the tennis courts). \nA few things to keep in mind prior to arrival: \n– Please keep at least 6ft of distance from groups other than the one you arrived with. \n– Please wear a mask when communicating with other groups or individuals while socially distancing. \n– We will not be providing water\, so please bring your own. \n– We will be providing gloves and pickers. All cleanup materials will be sanitized before and after the event. \n– Please check-in upon arrival. Signs and objects marking distance for proper queuing will be on-site. \nOther precautions and procedural changes will be addressed on site. \nPlease bring your mask! Questions?
